PATIALA: Senior Akali leader Capt Aminder Singh has requested acting chief of the Akal Takht Manjit Singh to keep from the organizational parleys of the united Shiromani Akali Dal headed by Parkash Singh Badal.

Ina letter written to the Takht chief, Capt Singh said since all the Akali factions had rejected the organizational setup announcement by Convenor of unity panel Ashok Singh Bagrian, the announcement has put the Akal Takht in a controversy because Bagrian was acting as the representative of the Takht in the nine member Akali unity committee.

Now, Capt Singh said, it was necessary to keep the Akal Takht, the highest temporal and religious seat of the Sikhs from the further indulgence in the organizational controversies. Capt Singh praised the efforts ‘made by the Akal Takht chief as to set a prelude for the Akali unity. Meanwhile, Prof Kirpal Singh Badungar, a senior Akal leader and resident of Punjab Mandel Commission Front, has demanded action against Ashok Singh Bagrian for announcing the Dal’s organizational setup without taking into confidence party president Parkash Singh Badal and the other two members of the unity committee, He also urged Parkash Singh Badal for reviewing the whole organizational setup announced by Bagrian and reconstitute the office bearers of the Shiromani Akali Dal by giving representations to all sections of society.
