SRI HEM KUNT FOUNDATION, INC,, is a newly organized institution. The inspiration for its organization came from Gurdwara Sri Hem Kunt Sahib Management Trust, founded in India in 1960. This Trust has, in the past 20 years, with the co-operation and full assistance of the public, erected a magnificent Hri Mander Temple on the peaks of Himalays (15,210 feet above sea level) on that bank of a vast lake where Guru Gobind Singh Ji, in Dushat Daman Saroop, sat in deep meditation and became one with God.

Now people from all over the world visit and enjoy the spiritual bliss over there. The said Trust has also erected 7 Gurdwaras and rest houses en-route to Sri Hem Kunt Sahib which is open for everyone, irrespective of their nationality, caste, creed, color, race or sex. Boarding and ‘lodging is free for everyone. A school has been opened to educate and feed poor children and at present over 150 children are residents of Sri Hem Kunt School at Rishikesh.

The said Trust has also sponsored a school in London (UK) in April 1979 for the Sikh children to teach them Punjabi language and kirtan. It is doing very well in the service of the Society.
