KUALALUMPUR, Oct. 4: Two Chinese players beat world champion compatriots to win the singles titles at the World Cup badminton tournament on Sunday.

Zhao Jianhua produced a devastating series of acrobatic smashes to upset Yang Yang 6-15 15-2 15-2 for the men’s singles title. Li Lingwet took the women’s crown 118 118 over Han Aiping.

After two disappointing sets full of unforced errors, Zhao produced his renowned repertoire of

smashes to overcome Yang despite some astonishing retrieving from the World champion.

AMSTERDAM: Ajax’s Dutch International midfielder Frank Rijkaard, who stormed out of the club following a row with Coach Johann Cruyff, has been transfer listed, a club spokesman said on Thursday.
