AHMEDABAD, India, March 7, Reuter: India’s Sunil Gavaskar became the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in test cricket.

He received a standing ovation from spectators when he achieved the mark by reaching 58 shortly after tea on the third day of the fourth test against Pakistan.

Gavaskar, who ‘already holds the record of 34 test centuries. first played for India in 197071 on the tour of West Indies.
