CALCUTTA, India: Pakistan C and India match ended in draw after Pakistan batted stubbornly to reach 156 for two at tea on the third day of the second cricket test.

Tight Indian bowling kept the batsman tied down as Pakistan scored just 53 runs in the second period, batting defensively and showing no inclination to take risks.

India took one wicket after lunch, that of Rameez Raja who was caught at short leg by substitute Sadadand Viswanath off left arm spinner Ravi Shastri. Shastri bowled 12 overs for 15 runs.

Rameez, batting with grim determination, hit 69 in 294 minutes and shared a 79run second wicket partnership with KizwanuzZamun who remains unbeaten on 46.

Scores: India 403 (Mohammad Azharuddin 141, Kapil Dev 66, Wasim Akram five for 96), Pakistan 156 for two (Rameez Raja 69. RizwanuzZaman 46 not out).

The Ist test in Madras was drawn.
