NEW DELHI: S. N. Tewari Director of the elite Special Protection Group the specialized task force set up in 1988 by late Rajiv Gandhi for providing security cover exclusively to the Prime Minister of India is being shifted to the Union Home Ministry as Additional Director General (Civil Defence). He will have the rank of Additional Secretary Tewari was chosen to head the SPG only a year ago. The Boston incident during the PM just-concluded US visit hastened the process of Tiwaris removal.
