KATHMANDU: Four members of the Spanish “Expedition Valenciana A.C. Everest 1991″ Sunday joined the elite club of mountaineers who have scaled the 8,848 meter world’s highest mount Everest.

The summiteers- Francisco Jose Perez Laffont (mountain guide), Rafael Vidaurre Garayo (an engineer) Antonio Ubieto Asere and Jose Antonio Graces (administrators)-, all in their thirties, sealed the peak via south-east ridge, Nepal Tourism ministry said here.

The 15-member team is led by 36-yr-old Juau Carlos Gomes: Ramos. The team is also scheduled. To climb Mt Lhotse from the west face during this autumn. Two died on the spot, while the other was taken to Ramanathapuram government hospital where his condition was reported to be critical.

Cyanide antidotes and other required medicines were being rushed to Ramanathapuram from Madras to eat the militant, the sources said, adding that further details were awaited.

The five captured men were all Indian fishermen — four were from Rameswaram while the other was from Pudukottai, the reports said.
