LONDON: Spain have been invited by the English football association (F.A) to take part with England and Scotland in the Rous cup at the end of the season, it was announced on Tuesday.

South American opponents are usually invited and in the past two years Colombia and Brazil have entered the triangular event, but this year Argentina turned down an F.A. invitation.

F.A, Secretary Ted Croker said on Tuesday that Argentina were unable to reshuffle their domestic league program sufficiently to allow them to visit Britain and added; “We are waiting for a reply from Spain.”
