NASHVILLE, Tennessee: Keeping in the traditions of the Sikh teachings, the Sikh community of Nashville donated their finances and resources to feed the hungry and needy of Nashville. On January 3, 1987, the members of the Sikh community prepared and served a vegetarian meal (langar) to over two hundred men, women and children at the local Holy Name Church. The gesture of the Sikhs was appreciated both by the people who were fed and by the priest of the church.
