CALCUTTA(PTI): Hosts India and its neighbor Sri Lanka will feature in the inaugural match of the six nation cab diamond jubilee cricket tournament to begin at Kanpur on November 7.

Releasing the fixture here on Monday, the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Jagmohun Dalmiya said all the participating countries have approved the fixture and also confirmed their arrival dates.

Apart from India, world champions Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will battle for supremacy in the 19day tournament, billed as a mini world cup.

He said both the semifinals and the final will be day and night matches and will be played in Calcutta. The semifinals will be on November 2425 while the final will be on November 27.

The tournament would be played on around robin league basis and the four top teams will qualify to the semifinals.

Dalmiya said Pakistan, west Indies and Sri Lanka, who will be participating in the Sharjah journey, will reach Delhi on Nov.5 just a day before the tournament.

Pakistan will play their first match against Zimbabwe at Madras on Noy.8, while west Indies will Jaunch their campaign the following day against Sri LankaatJaipur.

Dalmiya said the south African team will stop over at Singapore to play an exhibition match before reaching Bombay on Nov.6 evening. They are scheduled to play their first match against Zimbabwe on Nov.10 at Bangalore. Zimbabwe will arrive in Delhi on Nov.5.
