SINGAPORE: Singapore government went a step further than the Indian government when it banned the holding of Akhand Path by the Sikh settlers there for the peace of the two executed Sikhs, Bhai Satwant Singh and Bhai Kehar Singh. Sikhs are holding Akhand Paths all over the world and praying for the peace of Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh’s souls. SGPC also organized an Akhand Path at the Akal Takht, Amritsar, which was concluded on January 11. Thousands of Sikhs thronged to the Golden Temple to participate in the Antim Ardas. Rich tributes were paid to the great martyrs.

Singapore government’s extra ordinary sensitivity is not surprising in view of its total servility to Indian Government’s wishes. Earlier also it has been interfering in the Sikh affairs and harassing the Sikh youths for expressing concern over the Sikh persecution in India.

World Sikh Organizations planning to take up the matter with the Singapore government to persuade it from interfering in the religious rights of the Sikhs, said. Gian Singh Sandhu, President WSO International.
