PILIBHIT, India: Five Sikh youths shot dead the priest of a gurdwara and his wife and two, constables near Puranpur town in this district last night.

‘The police said that the youths demanded gold and arms from the priest. On being refused they shot the couple dead and escaped in a jeep belonging to the gurdwara.

While fleeing, the youths shot dead two constables who were on night patrol and took away their rifles and ammunition. The policemen were attached to the Puranpur kotwali. “The zonal Inspector-General of Police and other top officers have rushed to the site.
