MILPITAS, CA: Sikh foundation of Milpitas celebrated Vaisakhi and 295th birthday of Khalsa on April 24, 1994 with Shabad Kirtan program. Professor Darshan Singh Ji Khalsa, former Jathedar of Akal Takhat performed the Gurbani Kirtan, followed by Bibi Surjeet KaurJi of Sacramento and Bhai Arjan Singh Ji of Fremont.
Hundreds of Sikh families gathered at the Milpitas Senior Center to participate in the celebration.
Gurdev S. Sandhu introduced Mr. Pete McHugh, mayor of the city Of Milpitas to the Sadh Sangat. The honorable mayor read a proclamation commemorating the Vaisakhi Day and congratulated the members of the Sikh community of Milpitas. He also presented lo Professor Darshan Singh Ji Khalsa the key to the city of Milpitas.
