We appeal to all the Gurdwaras and Sikh Organizations to announce at their meetings / gatherings the importance of being counted as Sikhs in the 1990 census.
In the census form, identify your race (Question 4) as SIKH. Write SIKH in the column, Other Race, a sub-section of Other Asian or Pacific Islander (API).
Answer Question 13 on your ancestry or ethnic origin as SIKH and identify PUNJABI as the language you speak at home, (Question 15b).
Sikh leaders all over the US are requested to please help the Sikh community in the census campaign. Participation in the 1990 census will be of significant importance in our ongoing Sikh struggle for freedom.
