Dear Khalsa Ji:
The only way to achieve Khalistan is to initiate a massive shantmai morcha in which the Sikh nation raises the slogan “India Quit Khalistan,” courts arrest by the hundreds of thousands and boycott~ all aspects of the Indian government in the Sikh homeland. In no way will fighting elections under the Indian constitution further our struggle for freedom. Indeed, fighting elections will only retard our movement, setting us back to the days Prior to India’s attack on Darbar Sahib. ‘Throughout our movement for independence, the Leadership of the Akali Dal has advocated an ill-conceived plan of gaining “freedom through the Indian constitution.” Today, the Akalis are again preparing to fight elections. It is apparent to all freedom minded Sikhs that elections under the Indian constitution, far from furthering our struggle for freedom, will simply assure our continued national agony under Indian rule, Despite their posturing, it is clear by their advocacy of fighting elections that the Akalis do not tingly seek an independent Khalistan, It is not difficult to understand why. The Akali Dal has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, where would Prakash Singh Badal and Gurcharan Singh Tohra be in an independent Khalistan? Their positions depend on Indian government patronage. An independent Khalistan represents a threat to their very livelihoods, Even Simranjit Singh Mann, at times boldly Khalistani, has chosen to fight elections. How can we trust the Akalis when they persistently put their own selfish interests ahead of the Khalsa Panth?
The World Sikh Sammelan serves as case in point, What could have served as a forum through which to voice the Sikh demand for Khalistan was reduced by sycophants in the Akali Dal to the whimper of a dying lion. Three resolutions were passed, One called for the release of Ranjit Singh, Jathedar of the Akal Takht. ‘The second deplored the human rights situation in Punjab, citing the recent abduction of Jaswant Singh Khalra, Secretary General of the Akali Dal Human Rights Wing and urging the United Nations to intervene, The third resolution merely sought to create a group to study the functioning of the SGPC. How has this helped the Khalsa Panth? How has this alleviated suffering or advanced the movement for freedom? The World Sikh Sammelan was all smoke and mirrors! While it is well and good to call for the release of Ranjit Singh, do the Akalis expect the Indian government to release him? And if India releases
Raniit Singh will his release bring us Khalistan? Furthermore, to highlight the plight of Jaswant Singh Khalra is admirable, but do the AKalis expect the United Nations to intervene at the behest of leaders who cannot even muster enough courage to explicitly call for the freedom of their own people? As for the third resolution seeking to establish an SGPC study group, 1am doubtful such a course of action will mean much to the mothers Of the 120,000 Sikhs murdered at the be historic the Indian regime since 1984.
The one clear conclusion drawn from the World Sikh Sammelan is that the Akali Dal is part of the problem, not the solution, Ata time when Sikhs desperately need bold, courageous, visionary leadership; the Akali Dal has proven itself impotent. The declaration read at the World Sikh Sammelan did nothing to advance the freedom aspirations of the Khalsa Panth, Rather, it talked meekly about human rights, reiterated well known religious doctrine and urged Sikhs to abstain from intoxicants and ostentatious lifestyles. A similar declaration could have been issued at a Dharam Parchar meeting during an Amawas festival. Instead, the Akalis squandered the resources of Panth to organize lavish Sikh Meet which accomplish next to nothing.
Make no mistake about it, the World Sikh Sammelan was not organized for the benefit of the Khalsa Panth. It ‘was organized to advance the political fortunes of the entrenched Akali Dal leadership, Badal, Tohra and Singh Sahib Manjit Singh used it as opportunity to appear as if they care deeply about the future of the Panth when in fact they want to bring the Sikh nation into further entanglement with the government of India by fighting elections under the Indian constitution, Clearly we cannot expect the Akali Dal to move the Panth toward freedom for Khalistan. It is time for the Khalsa Panth to take ‘matters into its own hands. The course of action we need to take is simple. 1) We must leave Akali politics behind us and shun the Akali leadership. 2) We must form a Khalsa Raj Party, made up of new, dedicated leadership, with the expressed goal of achieving the outright independence of Khalistan.
3) We must raise the slogan of “India Quit Khalistan”
4) We must boycott all aspects of the Indian government in Sikh affairs.
5) We must launch a shantmai morcha for the liberation of Khalistan.
6) Through peaceful demonstration, hundreds of thousands of Sikhs must court arrest and fill the Indian jails, forcing the Indian government to vacate Khalistan. Khalsa Ji, We have declared our independence and it is time for our leadership to behave as such. Those who fight elections are traitors to the Panth, Elections only serve to further entangle us with the Indian government, adding legitimacy to Indian claims on the Sikh homeland. We must take a straightforward approach to the achievement of independence. It is time that we stand up and demand freedom for ourselves, Sikhs all over the world are committed to a free Khalistan, The Akali leadership cannot be allowed to sell short the interests of the Khalsa Panth, New, dedicated leadership must emerge to lead the struggle for Khalistan, Now is the time to stand up for freedom, Khalsa Bagi Yan Badshah!! India Quit Khalistan Khalistan Zindabad!! Panth Da Sewadar.
Dr. Gurmit Singh Aulakh Council of Khalistan.
