NEW DELHI: The International ‘Seminar on Meditation, sponsored he Gobind Sadan institute for advanced Studies in Comparative Religions, under the patronage of Baba Virsa Singh ji, was a huge success. Held in Gobind Sadan, from Sept 2nd 4th, leading scholars and theologians from America and India gathered to discuss and present papers on the concept of meditation within the faith traditions,

Under the expert guidance of Dr. G.S. Ann and, Secretary of the Institute and Chair of the Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of Panjabi University, Patiala, some 30 papers were presented.

Dr. S.A. Ali, Chairman of the Indian Institute of Islamic Studies and his distinguished faculty, Dr. Piar Singh of Guru Nanak University Amritsar.

Dr. JS Neki Dr Mahesh Tiwary Department of Buddhist Studies, Delhi University, Dr. Mahesh was Neog or Assam, Mr. Ezeklal Isdac Malehal, Jewish Welfare Association New Delhi, Dr. James Massey, who had recently completed a new Punjabi translation of the Bible, and B.N. Pande, ex-governor of Orissa were present.

Six distinguished American theologians participated. The Reverend Dr. Charles R. White, Executive Director of the Buffalo Area Metropolitan Ministries and the co-chair of the North American Interfaith Network. The Rey. Dr. Elias Mallon, Director of the Gray moor Ecumenical Institute and a Member of the Friars of Atonement

The Reverend Dr. Harvey Sindima, consultant to the World Council of Churches and Professor of Philosophy and Comparative Religion at Colgate University, Richard Payne, Editor and Chief of Element Books, Ltd, one of the leading publishers of books on spirituality in the English language, and Mary Pat Fisher, publisher, writer, and radio journalist, accompanied Ralph Singh, President of Gobind Sadan, USA.
