He was created by Himself and

He created His own characters

(Naon);

Secondly He created the Nature and

He satin there to watch its actions.

You are the Creator You are the

Giver and

You are responsible for expansion

(Pasao)

of the Universe.

You know everybody,

You give and take the body and life.

Being sitting inside the Nature

You watch everything.

(AGGS M 1 P 463)

All the creation is your Name

(The Almighty Himself) There

is no place without your Name

(Existence)..19.

(AGGS M 1 P.4)

Therefore there seems to be only one major difference between the “Nature” described by the scientists and the Almighty (Waheguru) described by Guru Nanak that Guru Nanak believes in the existence of the Almighty (Waheguru) as:

The Almighty (Waheguru) was in

existence (sach)

before the time (aad);

He was inexistence in the present;

He will be in existence for ever

(in the future).

(Aggs M 1 P 1)

The word “sach” has been interpreted as “existence” according to Dr.Sahib Singh (17). It is also to be noted here that Guru Nanak has taken the period even before the “time” came into existence (aad) for the existence of the Almighty (Waheguru).

Let us examine more about the concept of the Almighty (Waheguru) of Guru Nanak and the Nature:

It is His greatest character that He doesnt scek permission of anybody else.

It is His greatest character that He is by Himself.

His creations cannot be described. Nanak says His works (creation) are under His control.

(AGGS M 1 P 463)

The Laws of Nature or the Laws of the Almighty:

All the laws of Nature were created by the Almighty as said by Guru Nanak:

The air water fire earth and soil are under the laws of Nature.

It is all Your Nature and You are the Creator and Your Name (Nature) is pure (exists).

Nanak sees that everything prevails under His order (Laws of Nature).

(AGGS M 1 P 464)

Let us examine more:

He created the Universe according to His order (laws of Nature). He creates and then watches His own creation.

He works Himself and makes the others to work and He Himself is under His own laws.

(AGGS M 3 P 1043)

Guru Nanak simplifies the laws of the Nature as following:

Everything is in interiority of His hukm (laws).

Nothing is in exteriority of His hukm.

Nanak says if one can realize the above fact one loses egotism.

(AGGS M 1 P 2)

The Almighty is Inside Every Individual:

The Almighty is inside every individual according to Guru Nanak This is exactly the same expression of the controlling power in the individual as discussed previously (24): Wer wists 3

The Almighty (Waheguru) is not far away (high in the sky or space).

He is inside (of you).

Wherever one sees.

Him He is there. Who can evaluate His reality?

(AGGS M 1 P 421)

In “Asa di Waar” Guru Nanak has summed up the Nature as following:

Nanak praises His existence in the Nature;

Your infiniteness cannot be realized

(AGGS M 1 P 469)

It could be concluded that the “Nature” for a scientist is the same as the Almighty (Waheguru) for Guru Nanak with the exception that Guru Nanak emphasized that the Almighty (Waheguru) creates the Nature and controls the Nature and He Himself exists in the Nature.

  1. Cosmology Origin and Evolution of the Universe

Ata finite time in the past the mass and energy density as well as temperature of the universe were extremely high and concentrated in a relatively small location At this zero point of the time the universe “exploded” from its very concentrated or primordial state. This is referred to as the “big bang” theory of 1920s (Edwin Hubble). This theory is based on Einstein’s theory of general relativity. As the universe expanded its constituent particles-initially only hydrogen nuclei electrons positrons and later stars and galaxies which condensed from hydrogen gas and dust began dispersing with a certain velocity (21).

The “big bang” theory is equivalent to Guru Nanaks view that “the universe exploded with one sound as given in Jap Ji Sahib:

“The universe expanded (exploded) with one voice (sound)”

(AGGS M 1 P 3)

Guru Nanak further explained that it is very difficult to pin point the time when this “big bang” occurred:

“What was the moment time date day season Or month.

When the Universe was created.”

(AGGS M 1 P 4)

According to the latest finding it is estimated that the Universe came into being about 15 billion years ago (12). But according to Guru Nanak no definite date or time could be assigned to the origin of the universe

Astronomy

Nobody knows the exact number of galaxies formed after this “big bang: and how many stars are there in each galaxy. However Guru Nanak has explained the infinite universe in very simple wordings after quoting the then held concepts about the limit of the Universe in Jap Ji Sahib:

 “There are hundreds of thousands of netherworlds under netherworlds and skies and skies.

Vedas got tired of finding their limit and say one (above) concept.

Semitic books recorded eighteen thousand worlds.

The origin of which is one God. Guru Nanak says if one could count (the worlds) one would have accounted.

But the count is infinite.

He is the only one who knows the real count.”
