NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court dismissed a special leave petition filed by the state of Punjab. Against the judgment of the Punjab and Haryana High Court by which the court had quashed the detention of Sukhjinder Singh a former education minister under the National Security Act. As a consequence of the order Sukhjinder Singh was released from Tihar jail.
The Punjab High Court had earlier ordered his release but the state had obtained a stay order.
