WSN Service BATALA: The Union Home Minister Mufti Sayed flew to this town April 6 to enquire about the victims of the bomb blast which claimed 40 lives and injured 70.
An all-party delegation accompanied him to assess the situation. After visiting the injured in hospitals the minister heard delegations of various local groups.
The all party delegation comprised Harkishan Surjeet Yashwant Sinha, Jaswant Singh, Avtar Singh Malhotra, Kamal Choudhury, and Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora.
Sayeed ruled out the deployment of the army in Punjab. Security forces were deployed in adequate number, he said.
