CHANDIGARH: While the Khanna police have failed to make any break through into the death of Dr. Pramjeet Singh Sahota along with two others whose bodies were found in a burnt Ambassador car near here, the forensic experts have concluded that it was a Clear case of murder. Senior forensic expert confided on condition of anonymity that one of the theories propounded by the investigators of diesel having caught fire leading to the death of the occupants was not correct. Dr. Sahota, a holographic scientist was found dead along with Satnam Singh and Bikram Singh, the driver, on the night of September 16, their charred bodies were recovered from the car by the police. The experts disclosed that the cotton swabs taken from the site of crime did not indicate clearly what combustible material was used to destroy the bodies and the vehicle.
Going by the positioning and postures of the skeletons of the three deceased, it could be reasonably concluded that they were killed prior to setting the car on fire. One of the victims was sitting with crossed legs. The torso of the driver was not on the driver seat but on the other side. The experts have called for photographs taken by the police before removing the dead to the hospital which are yet to be made available. The experts pointed out that the local police had removed the bodies from the Site before the forensic team could reach there. This had complicated the matter. The diesel tank should have exploded had the diesel caught fire. But it was not so, the experts contended. Meanwhile, Hamek Singh Sahota, a brother of the deceased has petitioned to the Punjab Chief Minister H.S. Brar that investigations be handed over to the CBI.
