BRISTOL, England, Reuter: West German Christian Saceanu won his first grand prix tennis title on Saturday when he beat Indian number one Ramesh Krishnan 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, in the final of the Bristol Grasscourt Tournament.
Third seed Krishnan, denied the chance to emulate his father, Rama nathan, who won the title in 1959, admitted: “Christian was just too strong for me today”.
The 19-yearold Saceanu, appearing in a grand prix final for only the second time, took one hour and 40 minutes to earn his winner’s cheques of 10,000 pounds.
