Amritsar — At a specially convened meeting of the $.G.P.C., members appealed to the Sikh masses to stand solidly behind the leadership of Harchand Singh Longowal. Sikh Panth was passing through an unprecedented crisis and factionalism at this stage would very adversely affect the Sikh interests, they felt. Through a resolution it was decided to honor all those Sikhs who had laid down their lives in defending the sanctity of the Golden Temple during the operation Blue Star.

The meeting also condemned the Indian government decision to honor the personnel of army who had participated in the attack on the Golden Temple.
