AMRITSAR: The following resolutions were adopted on the third day of the World Sikh convention the immediate and unconditional release the Akal Takht Jathedar, Bhai Ranjit Singh, who is in Delhi’s Tihar jail, serving a life term for the assassination of the “fake” Nirankani chief.

To urge the Center, the Punjab and Haryana Governments to take steps to promote Punjabi language of undue controversies surrounding the Sikh scriptures setting up of committees to recommend the improvements in the state of the Gurdwaras. Appeal to the United Nations and other human rights bodies to protect the interests of the Sikhs. Condemnation of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and also the fact that the Parliament has never condemned the act, Immediate and severe punishment for the guilty of the riots who are being “shielded.”
