CHANDIGARH: Justice Swatantar Kumar of the Punjab and Haryana High Court issued notice to the CBI, UT Administration and Punjab Government in a case filed by Mrs. Surjit Kaur, mother of Gurmeet Singh, an alleged assassin of Beant Singh, for the production of her husband, Jaswinder Singh who was picked up on September 6.
Similarly, in two other petitions filed on behalf of Navjot Singh Chabbra, who was arrested from Mohali and Nasib Singh, who was arrested from Shingra village in Ropar district, it was demanded that the father and sister of Navjot Singh, Tarlok Singh and Mrs.Anita and the daughter of Nasib Singh, Harpreet Kaur, be produced in the court.
The counsel alleged that the relatives of the accused were in the illegal custody and were being tortured.
The court issued notice of motion all the petitions related to Beant case for November 10.
