JAMMU: The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded the reconstruction of the gutied temples in the Valley which have been burnt by the militants since the eruption of militancy six years ago. The ABVP also took a strong exception to the Government’s “criminal” silence over the reconstruction of Hindu temples and the migrant houses. The Parishad said that while it appreciates Government’s attitude and promptness in announcing the immediate compensation of Rs 15 crore for Chrar fire victims, unfortunately the Government’s silence over the loss of Hindus temples and houses in its aftermath is condemnable.

In a statement issued by the State vice president of ABVP Raj Kumar Nehru said that Government should not take Kashmir Pandits for granted, He warned that such a step would prove very costly for the Government.

Nehru demanded immediate announcement of a relief package for the Hindu fire victims and reconstruction of Hindu temples.
