NEW YORK (PTI): Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao has denied that there has been any pressure from the international monetary fund (IMF) or any such agency regarding the course of economic policies India should take.

In an interview with an Ethnic Television network here, Rao said his government was moving on the right track to deal with militant violence in Northern Border States of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir and there was improvement,

The Prime Minister alleged that there was State sponsored terrorism from Pakistan in Kashmir.

He said India is always ready to talk with Islamabad adding that there is cordiality between the people. But what is wrong is the situation and certain activities.

On the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. The Prime Minister said, India will not sign the treaty as there is no consensus in favor of signing it.
