BOSTON: Indias Prime Minister Rao came to Harvard University Cambridge Mass. on May 1794 on the second day of his visit to U.S.A In a special lecture to an audience of mostly Hindus he relayed the same message of Indias so-called progress and development The whole show was SO monotonous that quite a few people started to leave before the Prime Minister finished his parrot-like 45 Minute speech. The question hour was s6 staged at questions regarding nights of minorities in India violations of Human Rights etc were not permitted. Outside Sikhs lead by Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal former President of W.S.O. (U.S.A) Mrs .Gurmit Kaur Grewal S_ Amarjit Singh Buttar were demonstrating against the violation of Human Rights of Sikhs with pictures and posters of those killed in Delhi riots of November 1984 when P.M .Rao was Indias Home Minister Kashmiris and Bangladeshis also joined in respectable numbers and were raising slogans condemning rapes of innocent Kashmir women by Indias security forces. WASHINGTON: With U.S. media having taken no notice of Prime Minister Raos arrival in Washington India has opted to buy attention at an enormous expense. Indian Government and industry along with NRIs and US firs interested in doing business in India pooled resources to take out a six-page advertisement supplement in The Washington Post
A full-page advertisement in The Washington Post costs $49368 or about Rs 15.8 lakh. A six-page Supplement means almost six times that figure about Rs 94.8 lakh.
