KANPUR: The former Indian ambassador to the United States Ka: ran Singh Friday said the Ram temple at Ayodhya must be constructed, but not at the cost of demolishing the mosque that stood at the site.
Singh told reporters here the temple should be constructed or undisputed land and appealed tc both communities to wait for the final verdict of the court on this issue.
He said that if the issue was not resolved by December, it could be taken up for discussion at the forthcoming national seminar on “inter religion” to be held at the Indian capital, New Delhi.
On the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Singh said he had met President Ramaswamy Venkataraman last week and made some suggestions regarding problem, Militants have been waging a bloody battle for secession.
He blamed the government at Delhi for the deteriorating law and order situation in the valley and said he had not been consulted on any issue pertaining to the state.
