LIMERICK, Ireland Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, the Indian guru deported from the United States, expelled from Greece and barred from Britain, has been given an entry permit for Ireland, the Justice Department said Friday.

Rajneesh and eight disciples took over a floor of Jury’s Hotel in Limerick on March 7, according to hotel staff members.

They were asked Friday if the ‘guru was still at the hotel, but they would say only that some members of his entourage were there.

Rajneesh, forced out of the United States last year after he was charged with immigration violations, arrived in Ireland March 7 at Shannon Airport, authorities said Thursday.

Authorities said they let Rajnesh and his party stay in Limerick, 120 miles southwest of Dulin, after his executive jet landed with a passenger in need of medical problem.

Local reports said Rajneesh planned to fly to Venezuela later this week and a clerk at the Jury’s Hotel, where Rajneesh and his party of 10 rented out an entire floor, said “as far as I know” he plans to leave today.

‘An immigration official visited the guru Thursday but the out ‘come of the visit was not immediately known.

Hotel manager Brendan Gallagher said Rajneesh and his entourage had stayed in their rooms since arriving and were having all their food specially prepared by head chef Michael Mahe. He said the party ate mostly Indian dishes.

“We have a responsibility to see to all the needs of our guests in need of privacy and) comfort,” Gallagher said,

Officials at Shannon Airport said Rajneesh’s plane remained parked on the tarmac and said’ no one had filed a flight plan that would allow it to leave.
