By A Staff Reporter LONGOWAL: A conference he1d to mark the death anniversary of Sant Harchand Singh Longowal held here on August 21 turned into ‘an opposition rally in which senior leaders severely criticized the central government and demanded its resignation.

Rama Krishna Hedge, a former chief minister of Karanataka who is also a classmate of Akali leader Surjit Singh Bamala, accused the centre of complicating the Punjab problem. He asserted that as long as Rajiv remains in power, normalcy would not return to the state. He added that the centre should have provided better security to Sant Longowal.
