CHICAGO: Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago organized its Vaisakhi festival’ cultural program “Rangla Punjab °94”” o major Punjabi annual ‘oven  of Chicago met area on April 9 1994 at Center East Auditorium in Skokie Illinois with a jam packed full house of 1500 show casing Bhangra Gidha Punjabi songs music poetry humorous skits and many other colorful items performed by 200 participants An overjoyed audience of over 1500 enjoyed every minute of five and a half hours affair of continuous excitement without intermission. Dance-drama places of traditional Punjabi love stories like “Sohni Mahiwal” and“ Mirza Sahiban” were also enacted

Punjabi students of University of IL Chicago performed a Bhangra group dance item based on folklore “Jugni.”

“Rangla Punjab “94” program was ‘opened by Thakar Singh Basalt and emceed by Rajinder Singh Mago Harjinder Singh Khaira and the radio host Ma Singh Gill

Harjinder Singh Khaira sang “Ma Diye Lado.” “Tarlochan Singh Multani family presented a hilarious skit “Dukhi Patniyan.” Mohinderjit Singh Saini and Ronny Kukar broadcasted humorous Punjabi T.V. news “Idhar Udhar Declan”

Mohinder jit Singh Rakalla coordinated audio and video Onkar Singh Lall did the photography. Stage decorations were by artist Amarjit Singh. ‘The organizing committee amongst many others included Rajinder Singh Mago. Mohinder jit Singh Saini Thakar Singh Basti Manjit Singh Gill Gulzar Singh Moltni Sunny and Ronny Kular Bhagwant and Raju Sandhu Baljit and Inderjit Sidhu Vijay deep Singh Baljit Saini Inder Mohan Chhabra Surinder Singh Bhatia and Gurdip Singh Saini.
