Chandigarh: The Punjab Government today geared up security measures particularly in the Border districts to Amritsar and Gurdaspur taking a serious view of the recent spurt in violent activities in the state. The official source said that security personnel have been asked to keep strict watch on the people released from Jail after the Punjab accord and civic administration has been directed to take steps to maintain law and order. The measures include taking of one vehicles, ban on assembly of five or more persons and on pillion riding by adult made and carrying of fire arms. Some said law and order situation was being reviewed periodically.
