CHANDIGARH (PTI) Chief ‘minister of Punjab Beant Singh on march 16 said the law and order problem in the state was deep rooted in the long standing political ‘and socio-economic grievances of the Punjab is “however, the militancy is being fomented by hostile forces from across the border who, are exploiting the religious sentiments of the innocent Sikh youth”, Beant Singh said

In an informal chat with put there the chief minister denied having ‘said the problem was only of law and order and said he had been quoted out of context in this regard in a section of the press. He said the problem was of law and order in so far as it pertained to the senseless violence and bloodshed in the state.

He appealed to all political par ties and leaders in the state to join ‘him in the crusade for securing justice for Punjab.
