CHANDIGARH, India: ‘The Punjab Governor, SS. Ray, has hinted that normalcy wills Tatum to Punjab within four weeks from now. Talking to newsmen at Christian Medical College after visiting the Kapurthala S.P, Mr. P.M. Das, who was injured in an attack and is admitted in the hospital, Ray observed that the main thing was to get the job done Inspite of danger and this he proposed to do in as short a period as possible. He disagreed with those who say Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, has no clear policy on Punjab.

He expressed the hope that as a result of his policy, peace would be restored in four weeks. According to Ray, a handful of antinational elements could not be allowed to put the nation on ransomed.

Remarking that time should not be wasted on nonessentials, Ray said that it was not necessary to register a case against the four Sikh Head Priests who have given call to back militants. He said it was not the intention or desire of the government to make them important.
