CHANDIGARH: Punjab will be exempted from any central move to lower ceiling on agricultural land holdings.
This was announced here by Mr Rajdev Singh, President of the Panthic Akali Dal, after he led a deputation of party leaders to Mr V. P. Singh at New Delhi the other day. Mr Rajdey Singh said he told the Prime Minister that any move to lower the land ceiling would be disastrous for the farmers in Punjab where land holdings were already ve small and cost of production very high.
