HOSHIARPUR, India: Mr, Basant Singh Khalsa, the Punjab Education Minister reiterated that the President ship of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhik Committee should go to an able administrator. He said that Gurcharan Singh Tohra is an able candidate. Talking to newsmen here he said that Tohra himself resigned from the President ship of S.G.P.C. and now again he is a candidate for President ship .
He said that Mr, Tohra should rise above factional politics and should not side with any group. He should be a unanimous choice. This should be conducted in such a way that Barnala’s position remains un affected, Mr. Khalsa further Said that Badal group had put up a Condition that Barnala must present himself before Akal Takhts and Apologize. Barnala acted and did everything as demanded but now Badal group is putting a new Condition. He said that unity should be from within hearts, The Education Minister also said that he sided with Barnala only to serve ‘Akalis government. The fall of Aka government would have resulted in serious problems. To save the Akali’ government, I sided with Barnala.
