LUDHIANA, India: The Punjab Citizens for Democracy headed by Justice A.S. Bains has been disbanded. In its place a new social, economic and political organization named Punjab Autonomy Front has been formed. According to the press release issued by P.A.F. The Front has been formed to preserve Unity and Democracy, however, it will not support any political party.

The Front according to the lease will strive to mobilize mass movement to at a in a true Punjabi speaking autonomous state in this part of the country and to educate the people in principles of democracy and develop an independent public opinion for the economic and political issues for bringing basic change in the Indian Constitution, reorganization of the religious and cultural minorities, to coordinate with such organizations inside the country as are fighting for their religious and cultural identities, to defend civil liberties, to make efforts to establish a pro Punjab newspaper and to work for the repeal of all oppressive laws.

The Front will have A.S. Bains as its President and Mr. HS. Virdi as its vice-president. Advocate DS. Gillas General Secretary, Dr. Rajinderpal Singh as coordinator and Gurbhajan Singh Shergill as executive Secretary.
