JAMMU: The Kashmir government has issued an order for the attachment of the property of Mian Abdul Qayoom, convener of Tehrik E Huriyat a United Front of 11 secessionist organizations. Official sources said the step was taken as Qayoom, against whom action under public safety act has been initiated, was absconding.
Qayoom, who played a role in securing ‘Se release of federal home minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed s daughter, Dr. Rubiya Sayeed, from her abductors in December last year, had secured anticipatory bail from Srinagar court which was subsequently stayed by the Supreme Court on an appeal of the state government.
