BATALA: Punjab Governor Virender Verma ordered an inquiry into the alleged encounter near Todar Mall village under Kadian police station in which one youth was killed.
According to official sources, SS Chani Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur will conduct the probe. This action was taken following a telephone call by former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. Badal was approached by a delegation led by Schan Singh father of the youth met him and said the boy was killed in a staged encounter. He told Badal that his son was arrested near Damodar village under Batala on August 3 and later shot dead the same day,
