NEW DELHI: A constitutional amendment providing for Presidents rule for yet another six months in Punjab is likely to be introduced in the current session of Parliament.

The present tenure of central rule expires May 10.

The extension has become necessary because of the failure of the Govt to hold elections According to observers no elections would be held before the Satluj Yanuma Link canal which will carry Punjab’s waters to neighboring Hindu states is completed
