SIRINAGAR: The police fired three shots and lobbed several tear gas shells in the Fetah Qadar Area of Srinagar to disburse unruly youth who clashed with the police during the state wide shut down on. February 11 for which a call was given by some pro Pakistan elements and supported by Awami Action Committee of Manlvi Farooq and Abdul Gani lone.
The call was given in connection with the fifth anniversary of the execution of Mr. Maqbool Bhatt who was hanged in 1984 for the murder of one police official, Amarchand. 25 persons were injured in Saturday clashes and stone throwing incidents. Three government vehicles were also burnt.
The state government rounded up about 100 persons to throttle the attempts for the bundh.
