CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice of motion to Chander Shekhar, DIG, Jalandhar range and the state of Punjab on a writ petition filed by Ajay Scotia charging the DIC with using his influence to help his father-in-law to grab ‘two mills situated in Muktsar besides agricultural land measuring 100acres.
Justice Swatanter Kumar after hearing the petitioners fixed the case for September 13.
Baldev Singh, counsel for the petitioner, alleged that since the days ‘Chander Shekhar was posted as DIG (vigilance) threats were being issued to the petitioners family and relatives with a view to usurp the factories. ‘The security guards provided to Bharat Bhushan, father-in-law of the DIG, forcibly ousted the petitioner from the possession of the mills. Innumerable letters were written to the chief minister seeking security for life and property but to no avail.
