AMRITSAR, INDIA, Feb 1, Reuter: Six members of a family were shot and killed in their farmhouse in Punjab, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

A group of men armed with AK47 weapons burst into the home of Bakshish Singh at Bhai Ladhu village. 35 km (22 miles) west of Amritsar, on Monday evening killing him, his wife, daughter, two sons, and a daughter-in-law.

Police said that Bakshish was an informer who helped police find and kill six members of the Khalistan Commando Force, one of the groups fighting for an independent Sikh state of Khalistan in Punjab.
