NEW DELHI: Police made yet another claim that India’s most wanted Sikh freedom fighter, Harjinder Singh ‘Jinda’, was captured after shooting and wounding him. Harjinder Singh is the leader of a group fighting for an independent Sikh State and has been blamed by the police for planning more than a score of killings including that of the former Indian Army Chief, Gen AS, Vaidya who had led the assault on the Golden Temple, ‘Amritsar, the Sikh’s holiest shrine,

Jinda was arrested once before also but he had managed to escape from the police custody while being taken to the court. After his escape, police claimed to have killed him twice and captured him once earlier also but subsequently, changed its version, saying that the killed or the arrested person was a different Jinda. It is still not certain ‘whether the arrested person now is the real Jinda or somebody else.
