NEW DELHI: All six members of the planning commission, the highest planning body in the country, have submitted their resignation to Premier V.P. Singh who is also chairman of the commission.

Commission sources told PTI Tuesday that the government was yet to take any decision on the resignations.

The members are: Abid Hussain, Hiten Bhaya, Raja Chelliah, M.GK. Menon, P.N. Srivastava and Y.KAlagh.

The sources said it was customary for the members to submit their resignation with the change of government to facilitate reconstitution of the commission.

It was not immediately known when the commission would be reconstituted.

Till its reconstitution the members would continue to function.
