CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has constituted district and state level committees for making recommendations for appointing dependents of militants or victims of the November 1984 riots in the state services (Class III and IV) on a priority basis,
A spokesman of the state relief and resettlement department said a four member state level committee would be headed by the director of relief and resettlement. Other members would be a representative of the department where jobs were available, one member from the Scheduled Castes to be nominated by the secretary, for social welfare and one ex-servicemen to be nominated by the secretary, for sainik welfare.
Similarly, the district level committee would be headed by the Deputy Commissioner concerned for determining the eligibility of the candidates after scrutinizing their particulars and documents. If the credentials of the candidates were found correct their names would be recommended for appointment to the appointing authority for issuing appointment letters within 21 days.
