More than a thousand runs were scored in the match as India, electing to bat, scored ‘509 in the first innings before Pakistan replied with 699 for five when play was called off in the 11th mandatory over,

Shoaib Mohammed hit a career best unbeaten 203 and his fourth test century to remain not out along with Abdul Qadir, who scored 39 off 37 balls.

The pitch was tailor made for batsmen as players from both sides had their hours of glory. First Sanjay Manjrekar scored a career best 218 and then Shoaib produced a matching performance before Javed Miandad celebrated his 100th test appearance in style, scoring a magnificent 145.

Sanjay Manjrekar bagged the man of the match award for the second time in a row in the series.

With the third test ending in a draw, the last of the four match series at Sialkot becomes more important than ever. Only cone test was played in Sialkot in 1985 Pakistan defeat Sri Lanka. (PTT).
