NEW DELHL, India: The opposition Lok Dal leader and a veteran politician, Mr. H.N. Bahuguna, has said that India today faced big imperialist pressure and the inept government at the center has been unable to handle the situation.
‘Addressing a meeting held here ‘under the auspices of the All India Sikh Conference, Mr. Bahuguna deplored the delay in the rehabilitation of the victims of the post Indira Gandhi antiSikh riots in November, 1984.
He assured the audience, most of whom were the victims of the riots, of a joint effort in this direction by various opposition parties.
‘The meeting was addressed by a number of opposition leaders who blamed the government for creating mistrust among communities They demanded speedy rehabilitation of the November, 1984, riot victims’ families in Delhi and other places,
Mr. Ajit Singh, member of the Parliament and a Lok Dal leader accused the government of shielding those responsible for the riots.
‘The Bharatiya Janata Party leader, M.L. Khurana, demanded the publication of the report of the commission which inquired into the riot in the wake of Mrs. Indirs Gandhi’s assassination, He said his party had published a list of those killed in the riots.
