New Delhi__ Congress (I) manifesto was released here from the party Headquarters. In the manifesto Rajiv has called upon the electorate to return only the same party to power in States as was ruling at the center. This was the only way to ensure development and progress in the states. Opposition parties have sharply reacted to the manifesto and called it a serious threat to the sensitive issue of Centre State relations. “It is a political blackmail,”’ they said. The manifesto indirectly hints at the stoppage of financial assistance to States that reject congress (I). Rajiv has also severely criticized the States run by opposition parties. States ruled by oppositions have remained backward because of inadequate support from the center.
