Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter in response Piara Singh Ghuman’s article TADA Is Still Needed in your guest column.

This letter suddenly reminds me B Jew is writing a letter to a German Newspaper, saying “concentration camps are justified and her has rightfully created them in this and time it appears Piara Singh, while fulfilling his duty to his masters have totally lost his self respect and con science, but then history is full of such people who for their individualist sacrifice the collective interest and above all the interest of humanity in order to please a Tyrant. Now what does this Draconian Law TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Ativity Act) stands for? A black law where 1. Presumption of innocence reversed to guill.

  1. Right to bail denied.
  2. Confession obtained by police future, admitted in courts.
  3. Trials held in jail cells.
  4. Legal remedy of Habeus Corpus ignored.
  5. Identification of witnesses can be suppressed
  6. Cross examination is denied amongst others. Piara Singh Ghuman at the dire of Indian Government has tried to justify the continuation of this sum of Absolute Repression,”

As Piara Singh points out that het well connected with Indian affairs and in turn, I have been made affairs, by several members of the Sikh community about Mr. Ghuman’s close munity association with the Indian Embassy and Governor S.S. Ray in particular

Ghuman points out that the discussion on TADA was lopsided as the was nobody invited from the other side to defend the Indian Govern ment. As all the viewers recall that in this program on TADA, in the Panibi community hour, hosted by Paul and Manmohan Chawla, Mrs. Chawla very clearly identified in the begin ning of the program that they invited Ambassadors.S.Ray, but he declined to come. (I am sending you the video tape for the record), Mr. Ghuman also fails to remember the name of the host, but very distinctly remembers everything else. Why such a bizarre memory? Ghuman has portrayed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale and people demanding Khalistan to be Militant and justified the use of force on them. In the history of mankind the martyrs like Sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderanlwale whose 13 innocent Sikhs were killed in cold blood and several hundred wounded on April 13. 1978, by those puppets of the Indian Government called Nirankaris, could not tolerate this assault. I at that time served as a physician (House Officer in the $.G.T. B hospital in Amritsar and took care of many dead and the wounded. He was a peace loving human being and a preacher who fol. lowed in the foot steps of Baba Deep Singh, the greatest Sikh Ieader and warrior born approximately 250 years ago. Who have humbled the Mughals and Afghans many times. He sacrificed his life against the tyranny of Mughals, who have forcefully converted Hindus to Islam and desecrated Darbar Sahib. Labeling Sant Jarnail Singh a militant, was the easiest too! in the hands of Indira Gandhi and her government and its oppressive policics against the Sikhs, which Sant brought to the awareness of all Sikhs and the rest of the world.

Terrorism is a very relative term. It depends on who is in power and who controls the media and whose interest is best served at the time.

Look at the example of David Bon Guirion, Yitzhak Shamir, Menachem Begin. Eli Cohen, Yasser Arafat, Gerry Adams, all have been labeled as militants by their respective enemies, but yet they have gone in the history of their nations as greatest freedom fighters and heroes

History of the Sikhs is contrary to what Indian Government and Indian Media has tried very hard to label them.

When a Sikh Ieader like Simranjit Singh Mann or Col. Partap Singh call for peaceful liberation of Khalistan, they are charged under TADA and labeled as militants and when a Hindu leader like Bal Thackeray. Joshi or Advani calls for Hindu Rashtra and instigate the demolition of Babari Masjid, they go escort free and instcad are promoted as heroes and saviors of Hindu religion by majority Hindus. What kind of law and democ. racy is this? It is hypocrisy. In 19881 became the victim of S.S. Ray’s Operation Humiliation

Today let me make it clear that the Sikhs feel betrayed, oppressed and stand completely alienated form the rest of India. As a result of this desecration of their holiest shrine the Golden Temple, and because of the genocidal policy of the Indian Government, their betrayal at every step. and laws like TADA and other discriminatory policies against the Sikhs do not want to live with India and have declared the independence of their homeland Khalistan, The Sikh flag was hoisted at Hague, Netherlands at U.NF.O. general assembly by three Sikhs, Dr.Gurmit Singh Aulakh, Dr. Paramjit Singh Ajrawat, and S. Bhupinder Singh on January 24, 1993, after 144 years, when the Sikhs lost their Khalsa Raj(their country) to the Britishers in 1849.

As far as S.S. Ray, and his cohort Piara Singh Ghuman and other tyrants are concerned, they shall face the same fate as the tyrant Nazis and their collaborators faced for massacring the Jews during the Nuremberg Trials, when Khalisian gets liberated. Paramjit Singh Ajrawat, M.D. Greenbelt, MD.
